Richtmyer-Meshkov Instability for polytropic gases

In a shock tube with length 32.0 and height 5.6 an interface separates the gases air (density 2.25) at the left side and SF6 (density 4.85) at the right side. The interface at x = 11.0 is represented by a cosine profile. Across the interface the pressure is 100. A shock wave driven by a pressure of 357.12 propagates from x = 9.5 rightwards. The computation has been carried out on 7 computing nodes. The resolution at the finest level is 3200 x 544.
